Yorkshire Aero Club operate a fleet of well maintained Cessna aircraft. The bulk of training is complete on our Cessna 150/152 two seater aircraft, which is a very common training aircraft utilised all over the world. In addition to the 150/152, we also have a Cessna 172 which is available for training and self fly hire once you have gained your licence. All of our aircraft our equipped with the latest avionics such as Mode S transponders and 8.33KHz compliant radios. All aircraft also have Emergency Locator Beacons fitted.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Doncaster Sheffield Airport, is arguably Yorkshire’s most accessible airport making it the perfect base for Yorkshire Aero Club. Its proximity to the M18 / A1(M) motorway network, places it within a 45 minute drive from major cities such as Leeds, York and Sheffield. The history of the aiprort dates back to 1915 when it was founded as Finningley Airfield, however it is best known for being RAF Finningley, the home of the Vulcan Bomber.

The airport now hosts all of the facilities one would expect from an International airport, such as full approach and runway lighting, Category 7 fire cover and Instrument Landing System. All of these features, as well as the air traffic control environment, make Doncaster Sheffield Airport the perfect back drop for budding pilots to gain their Pilot’s Licence, and experienced pilots utilise their skills.


All of our instructors are highly experienced and fully qualified. They are available seven days a week, and subject to aircraft bookings, work around your schedule to meet your personal needs.

They are also available all day for you to contact and ask any questions about your course. One thing we like to make sure of at Yorkshire Aero Club, is to put you through your flight training efficiently, but at the same time make it enjoyable.
